Due to the increase in illness within our district and advice from public health, tomorrow, Feb. 9, will be a non-school day for all students to help prevent the spread of illness. We will make this instructional day up on June 10th. If you would like to pick your child up early today, you are welcome to do so at this time. Stay healthy!

Social and Emotional Learning at MSE
This week's SEL topic was Apologizing.
Mary, who is quite the bird watcher, found Blue Moon hiding in her classroom this week. When asked what she learned during the lesson on apologizing she replied, "I learned how to do a 4 step apology... and also if you hurt someone's feelings. Apologizing can make people feel better".

Third grader Maesyn found our SEL mascot, Blue Moon, hiding in her classroom this week. When asked what she learned during this week's SEL lesson she replied, "When you listen to learn you remember more and you will get smarter".

Friday Bucket Filler Winner
Tommie is the proud winner of a sandwich certificate from Mt. Shasta Market! She won the award for being a leader in class.
Cheers were heard emanating from Tommie's classroom as her name was read during morning announcements! Great job Tommie! 🤩

Davis was so excited to be announced the winner of this week's Principal's Pass! He won the pass for showing respect and responsibility in class.

Mrs. Burker's 3rd grade recently studied the artist, Dale Chihuly, and recreated his blown glass Macchia.
The process involved painting plastic craft sheets with acrylic paint, draping the paper over a bowl/cup and drying it for 8 minutes with a heat gun. The students were very creative in their designs and had a wonderful time!
