A Meet-and-Greet to meet our new superintendent will be this Friday from 8:00 am - 9:00 am at the district office in the board room. We will have drinks and pastries. Stop by and introduce yourself!
Hello, MSUSD Families!
Our hard-working teachers will be reaching out to you to discuss home-to-school and school-to-home communication. They will provide preferred ways to contact them, and the appropriate hours as well. We want to let you know that since they are teaching for the most part of a day, they are not available to respond immediately to your email or phone message, but will get back to you within 24 hours. If you have an urgent message or concern, you can always call the school office. Thank you for understanding and for being our partners in education.
Due to a personal situation affecting our bus driver, we will not have a bus run the first week of school. If this causes a hardship for your child, please call the school office.
Teachers have been learning new curriculum to be prepared for the 22-23 school year.
Due to a personal issue, and after exhausting all other options, we will have no bus service for the first week of school. If this causes you a hardship, please call the school office. Thank you.
More selfie fun!
Staff were treated to a little goodie today on their first day back for professional development!

We are in contact with the city regarding road construction near the elementary school. They know to be sure to provide a safe route to school on our first day!
Great opportunity! Session starts Wednesday!
Ms. Beall is honored to be the superintendent of MSUSD and to serve the community of Mount Shasta. This is her 32nd year in education and 9th as an administrator. She raised her children in Mount Shasta and is excited to give back to the community she loves. She looks forward to meeting the students and families, and to provide the support to all staff so that our students can succeed. Come on by and say hi to our superintendent!
Aloha! My name is Richard Belzer and it is an honor to be serving as the Principal/TOSA at Mount Shasta Elementary School. Mount Shasta is one of the greatest places on earth and I am thankful to be able to do my part to support our community. It's hard to believe I am the Principal at the little white school where as a child, friends and I gathered here to play basketball on the playground. I graduated from Dunsmuir High School in 1996 and Chico State University in 2001. After receiving my teaching credential I was hired at Dunsmuir Elementary School where I taught middle school and coached basketball. From there I worked at Wai'anae Elementary School in Hawaii and then returned to Redding where I taught mathematics, served as the Attendance Administrator, and coached baseball at Shasta High School. While at Shasta High School I earned my Preliminary Administrative Credential from Chico State. I am so thankful to have found a new HOME at Mount Shasta Elementary School.
My family and I have been living here for two years now, so you may have seen my family and I, running the Lake Siskiyou trail, skiing, swimming and fishing at Lake Siskiyou, riding mountain bikes, or hanging out at the soccer field. My favorite things to do are helping others, running the Gateway trails, fly-fishing the Upper Sac, backcountry skiing at Castle Lake, surfing Santa Cruz and Hawaii, backpacking in the Trinity Alps, traveling, and just having quality time with my family and friends.
Please don't ever hesitate to come and say hello! I can't wait to see you at MSE and I look forward to working alongside you to make our community a better place! Mount Shasta Elementary School is one of the best places to go to school and that is because YOU help make that happen. This is going to be fun!
Sisson School and MSUSD is so fortunate to have long-time educator, Kale Riccomini, at the helm. This will be his 11th year as principal at Sisson, and 31st in education. He has a Master’s degree in Physical Education. Mr. Riccomini is known for his support of staff, knowing all of the students and their interests, his fairness, energy, and dedication to our families and school. Mr. Riccomini states, “Sisson School is a wonderful place to work because I'm surrounded by fabulous families, terrific teachers and sensational students!”
